This is a durable wet mix SFRM that is designed to provide fire protection specifically for retrofit commercial construction projects.
When using a typical wet spray (gypsum plaster), SFRMs are mixed with water to form a slurry. This slurry is then conveyed through hoses and dispersed with air at the nozzle. After application, the material hoses are then purged with water to ensure residual plaster is removed so that it doesn’t harden in the hose overnight. This purging procedure can reduce production time by 10 to15 percent per day.
Unlike typical wet sprays, when using CAFCO 300 ES (Extended Set), purging can be avoided, and a contractor can leave the material in the hoses overnight or for a few days without the material setting up.
CAFCO QWIK-SET™ is required to set the 300 ES properly. This product can also be used with standard CAFCO 300 to accelerate the set time. With accelerated set time, subsequent coats can be applied quickly and more efficiently to the required thickness.
CAFCO 400 is best suited for areas where SFRMs are subject to higher levels of abuse or maintenance traffic. This cement-based, medium density SFRM has the same high fire resistance per unit thickness as CAFCO 300. With CAFCO 400, benefits such as easy clean-up, durability and lower thickness requirements for fire ratings make it the top choice for a medium density SFRM.
Fendolite® M-II is a single package, factory-controlled spray-applied fire resistive material (SFRM) based on vermiculite and portland cement. It is specially developed for application to exterior structural steel and interior situations such as structural columns, beams, steel vessels and skirts that require higher levels of abrasion resistance and hardness.
Fendolite TG is designed for application by trowel for areas where spraying is not permitted or where spraying would be impractical.
Fendolite is lightweight helping to reduce dead load significantly and is also highly durable and resistant to cracking or spalling under mechanical impact. Underwriters Laboratories classify Fendolite M-II and TG for up to four hours of protection based on the Rapid Rise Fire Test (UL 1709).
